In 2019, HARD agreed to collaborate with Resource for Community Development (RCD) Housing, Berkeley, CA, in the development of a new 7-story affordable housing facility, at East 14th Street and 162th Ave., with creation of a new community center. Construction is anticipated to begin early summer 2022. In select locations, programming will be modified to include picnic areas. These courts will be refreshed with new paving, paint, surfacing, furnishings, drinking fountains, backstops, hoops, nets, fencing, storage, and other features. The courts are primarily basketball, but will also include tennis, pickleball overlaid on tennis, Bankshot Station, and a flexible multi-court for futsal, rollerblading, and open-ended fun.
